COD Earns GFOA National Budget Award

By Robyn Johnson

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada recently announced that College of DuPage has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for FY 2011, the 14th consecutive year the College has earned this recognition.

"The significance of this award should not be disregarded," said GFOA Research and Consulting Director Anne Spray Kinney. "This award was extended to College of DuPage because of the superior manner in which the budget was developed and communicated to residents of District 502."

The Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program has been promoting the preparation of high quality, transparent budget documents since 1984. GFOA is a nonprofit professional organization representing approximately 18,000 government finance professionals nationwide.

"To receive this award for 14 consecutive years is a solid affirmation that we take our responsibility for transparency to the taxpayers of our district very seriously," said Tom Glaser, COD Senior Vice President for Administration and Treasurer.
