Enjoy Student-Made Culinary Delights for Lunch, Dinner and at the Market

Students in the Culinary program at College of DuPage are creating delectable offerings this fall in Waterleaf and the Culinary Market.
The student-run Waterleaf serves fresh regional American cuisine prepared by students in the Culinary & Pastry Arts and Service classes. Lunch seatings are at 11:15, 11:30 and 11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 4 to Nov. 29, while dinner seatings are at 6:30, 6:45 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 4 to Nov. 29. Featured fare this spring is American South, Sept. 4 to 20; Central Plains, Sept. 25 to Oct. 11; Pacific Northwest, Oct. 16 to Nov. 1; and New England, Nov. 6 to Nov. 29. The cost is $17 for lunch and dinner, and menus can be viewed here.
Students in the International Cuisine class take guests on a gastronomic tour of the world with recipes celebrating the seasons and using the freshest ingredients. Dinners start at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 26 (France), Oct. 10 (Oktoberfest), Nov. 7 (Two Brothers Beer Dinner), and Nov. 28 (Australia). The menus can be viewed here and the cost is $45.
Also in Waterleaf, advanced culinary students in the Contemporary Cuisine class prepare and serve a multi-course meal. Seatings are at 6, 6:15 and 6:30 p.m., and dinners are on Thursdays, Sept. 13 and 20; Oct. 11 and 18; and Nov. 1, 15 and 29. Menus are subject to change and can be viewed here. Dinners can be ordered a la carte, as a five-course meal for $50, or as a five-course meal with wine pairings for $60.
The Culinary Market sells items made by students and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Sept. 25 to Nov. 28. The menu at the Culinary Market changes daily and is tied to the curriculum of several classes.
Also at the Culinary Market, the Fast Casual class operates a quick-serve concept where patrons can purchase breakfast and lunch items at the counter and then grab a table in Wheat Cafe. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Sept. 25 to Nov. 28. The menus can viewed here.
